Community Guidelines¶
OpenIT.chat is built on mutual respect and a genuine desire to help each other. These guidelines help us maintain a welcoming, productive, and safe space for everyone.
At Meetings¶
⏰ Please Be On Time¶
- Meetings start promptly at the scheduled time
- We respect everyone's time; late arrivals disrupt discussions
- If you'll be significantly late, message the Signal group
🎤 Respect Speaking Time¶
- Let people finish their thoughts
- Ask questions after they're done
- If discussions get heated, we'll pause and reset
- Everyone gets a turn to speak
📱 Be Present¶
- Put phones on silent (except in emergencies)
- Focus on the conversation, not your email
- We're here for real connection
💭 Assume Good Intent¶
- Misunderstandings happen – address them kindly
- Disagreement is good; disrespect is not
- If something bothers you, talk about it
Recording & Knowledge Sharing¶
📹 Meetings Are Recorded¶
- We record all gatherings to create transcripts and knowledge base content
- Your participation implies consent to being recorded
- If you prefer not to be recorded, let organizers know in advance
-
Recordings are used only for:
-
Transcription
- AI-assisted writeups (how-tos, blog posts)
- Internal community reference
- Not for commercial purposes or public social media without explicit permission
✍️ Attribution Matters¶
- When we create content from meetings, we credit contributors
- Attribution is attempted but not guaranteed – complex discussions may make attribution difficult
- You can request anonymity if preferred
- You retain ownership of your ideas and code
Signal Group¶
🔒 It's Private¶
- The Signal group is for community members only
- What's shared there stays there (unless explicitly shared elsewhere)
